Man shot, killed by police after domestic violence incident identified by coroner
The Franklin County Coroner's Office released the name of a man shot and killed by officers after he shot and killed a 45-year-old woman. Corey Roach, 50, died in the shooting that happened after 7 p.m. Saturday after officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 4700 block of McAllister Avenue near Shady Lane Road, one block south of East Main Street.

Man wanted for deadly Warren shooting captured near Columbus
WARREN, Ohio — A suspect wanted in connection with a deadly shooting in Warren -- identified as 26-year-old Zaa Von Hameed -- has been captured. Hameed was arrested late Monday night by the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team at an address near the 400 block of Shadow Run Drive in Groveport, which is south of Columbus.
Ohio landlord jailed after rental properties found to be 'unsafe for human habitation'
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) - An Ohio landlord was jailed after his rental properties were found to be "unsafe for human habitation." According to The Columbus Dispatch, Joseph Alaura, a landlord in Columbus, was sentenced to 175 behind bars after the city discovered multiple violations at his 32 properties. Per the publication, authorities found several properties were infested with roaches and rodents, as well as some that lacked gas, electricity or heat.
Evictions at all time high in Franklin County
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Franklin County is on course to set another record for evictions. In 2023, the county saw 23,900 evictions, an increase of 12,000 from the year prior. This year, the county is on pace to hit 26,000 evictions, according to Magistrate Tony Paat who oversees Franklin County Eviction Court.
