Texas Governor Greg Abbott is receiving support from another state as part of Operation Lone Star. The State of Montana is sending soldiers and airmen from the National Guard.

The announcement came on February 13.

As the number of illegal immigrants has decreased recently in Texas according to CBS News, migrants are still finding ways to cross the border.

With the additional support of Montana’s National Guard, that will be a big benefit in the border crisis.

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte said according to a press release:

“National security is the number one responsibility of the federal government, and President Joe Biden has left Americans and our country completely vulnerable with his failure to address the cartel-fueled surge in illegal immigration and drugs.”
“While Biden refuses to do his job and enforce the immigration laws already on the books, the State of Montana will identify meaningful ways to support Governor Abbott and Texas in their efforts to secure the southern border.”

In the Rocky Mountain region which includes Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming, there has been a 78% increase in fentanyl and over 3 million fentanyl pills were seized in 2023.

Major General J. Peter Hronek, the Adjutant General for Montana, added:

“The soldiers and airmen of the Montana National Guard are always ready to respond to requests for support from our fellow states.”
“In recent years we have provided support outside our state in response to hurricanes, flooding, and fires. We will immediately begin looking for ways to support Texas in their ongoing border mission.”

What do you think about Montana's support?
