As the country has had eyes on the migrant crisis to the south in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California, this year a new crisis is emerging up north along the Canada - U.S. border. Over the past three years, the numbers have steadily increased.

In 2021, Customs and Border Patrol encountered 27,000 illegal aliens. Then the following year in 2022, they encountered four times the amount with 109,000 crossing the border.

Since we’re less than two months into the year, Border Patrol has encountered 56,000 illegal aliens. If the numbers continue, Canada will see about 223,000 illegal aliens.

In a news conference on Wednesday, Trudeau said:

"The problem is we have 6,000 kilometres worth of undefended shared border with the United States … People will choose to cross elsewhere."
"The only way to effectively shut down not just Roxham Road but the entire border to these irregular crossings is to renegotiate the Safe Third Country Agreement."

Trudeau said Canada and the United States were still negotiating the current migrant issue. No anticipated date for the agreement is identified.

This is all Trudeau’s fault

As Trudeau wants to blame the United States, it could be his fault for allowing migrants to illegally cross an unauthorized border crossing.

The Safe Third Country Agreement was signed in 2002. It authorized asylum seekers to submit their requests and use authorized crossing points. Roxham Road is not one of them.

Then Sean Walsh president of the Swanton sector of the National Border Patrol Council added:

"They're allowing it to happen. The visas in place, they are allowed to travel a lot easier. They fly into Montreal, Ontario, and you name it across Canada, and these cartels and smuggling organizations are making money hand over fist."

With Border Patrol having issues with manpower, migrants are having an easier time crossing the northern border.

This recent video goes into more detail about the migrant crossing along the Canadian border.

Do you think President Biden will work out an agreement with Canada on the migrants?
