Since Texas Governor Greg Abbott initiated Operation Lone Star to manage migrants crossing the Texas-Mexican border, he started busing them to sanctuary cities. In the spring, Abbott bused migrants to Washington D.C. to show President Joe Biden the issue he was dealing with.

Then several months later in August, he started sending migrants to New York City and then to Chicago a month later.

Now, Abbott has sent the 300th bus this time to Chicago. Mayor Lori Lightwood has not declared a State of Emergency but the state governor, Governor J.B. Pritzker has.

A month ago, Chicago struggled to handle the number of migrants and provide them with the proper clothing for winter weather.

Governor Abbott tweeted:

"The 300th Texas bus of migrants just left for Chicago. As Biden does nothing, Texas will continue taking unprecedented action to relieve our overwhelmed border communities & secure the border."

Abbott has criticized the Biden administration for their poor effort supporting Texas and other southern states as migrants are crossing the border in record numbers.

Arizona Republican Governor Doug Ducey also bussed migrants to sanctuary cities such as Washington, D.C.

Here are the first group of migrants bussed to Chicago.

Here are the numbers

Last month, Governor Abbott said more than 336 million lethal doses of fentanyl were seized since Operation Lone Star began. In October, 205,000 illegal immigrants were captured and more than 64,000 illegal immigrants evaded the Border Patrol.

In 2022, more than 2.3 million migrants were encountered by the border patrol during the year setting a record high.

Do you think Mayor Lightfoot needs to declare a State of Emergency?
