On Saturday morning, Texas Governor Greg Abbott talked before the next bus left to head off to New York City. The Republican governor has criticized President Joe Biden over how he took a hands-off approach to the migrants entering the Texas and Arizona borders.

This year, Governor Abbott has bussed migrants from Texas to cities such as Washington, D.C., and New York City. These actions have angered both mayors of those cities.

    Governor Abbott said:

“While Biden ignores the crisis, Texas steps up. ”

    He said he was:

“filling the gaps left in Biden’s absence at our border.”

On Saturday, Governor Abbott added Texas has:

“made over 19,000 arrests, seized over 335.5M lethal fentanyl doses, & sent over 7,400 migrants on buses to DC and over 1,500 to NYC.”

Earlier this month, Governor Abbott said:

“In addition to Washington, D.C., New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city.”

Abbott said he hopes Mayor Adams follows through:

“I hope he follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief.”

But Governor Abbott has not made everyone happy with his decision.

The commissioner of New York immigrant Affairs Manuel Castro said:

“It is shameful, and it is our moral obligation to condemn the use of human beings for political purposes.”

Then, Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser requested support from the Biden administration for National Guard Support but they were denied a week ago.

The migrants have been willing to get on the bus to leave Texas so they can start their life in a new home. After days, weeks, or months of traveling, they are happy to finally get settled.

Recently, this other Texas city started bussing migrants to New York.

Do you think President Biden will assist Texas or the two East coast cities with the migrants?
