On Saturday, two more buses from Texas arrived in New York City. The buses carried 96 migrants as Governor Greg Abbott continues to send the asylum seekers to sanctuary cities such as New York and Washington, D.C.

This has already caused New York Mayor Eric Adams to push back against Abbott’s sending the migrants repeatedly. This is also an election year for Governor Abbott as he seeks his third term as governor.

Manuel Castro, the commissioner of the New York Office of the Immigrant Affairs said:

"He’s weaponizing asylum seekers. It is shameful, and it is our moral obligation to condemn the use of human beings for political purposes."

Then City Comptroller Brad Lander added that Abbott's actions were "inhumane" and "disgusting."

Lander said resources in the city were stretched thin with the arrival of migrants. The Coalition for the Homeless stated the city had 50,287 homeless people as of June which was before the migrants arrived in New York.

New York is using 14 hotels to shelter the migrants which is up from 11 from two weeks ago.

According to the NY Post, the city is expected to spend more than $300 million a year to house and support the migrants.

After the buses arrived in New York on Saturday, Governor Abbott wrote on social media:

"Texas is filling the gaps left in Biden's absence at our border. We've made over 19,000 arrests, seized over 335.5M lethal fentanyl doses, & sent over 7,400 migrants on buses to DC and over 1,500 to NYC. While Biden ignores the crisis, Texas steps up."

Then President Joe Biden has not supported Texas and Arizona on the border issue. And, the Biden administration has not provided support to the New York and Washington, D.C. mayors.

If you were President for a day, how would you handle the border crisis and the migrants?
