Governor Abbott Points Out the Hypocrisy of New York Mayor

On Wednesday, New York saw the biggest number of buses since Texas Governor Greg Abbott started transporting them there to the city since August 5. Five busloads of migrants arrived in the sanctuary city that Mayor Eric Adams has called it. This is only a few days after the last set of migrants arrived on Sunday.

Even though Adams welcomes immigrants, he doesn’t like what Governor Abbott has been doing.

Mayor Adams said:

"This is horrific when you think about what the governor is doing,"

In a New York Post Op-ed, the Governor wrote:

“Mayor Adams likes to pat himself on the back for welcoming migrants with open arms to his sanctuary city. That is, until he actually has to follow through on those lofty promises.”

Abbot added:

"Adams talked the talk about being a sanctuary city — welcoming illegal immigrants into the Big Apple with warm hospitality. Talk is cheap. When pressed into fulfilling such ill-considered policies, he wants to condemn anyone who is pressing him to walk the walk."

Then McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos told Fox News:

"You see New York, you see Washington kind of drowning with a few buses. We used to get over a thousand-something people a day."

"The city of McAllen was able to deal with thousands of immigrants a day. I think they can handle a few hundred."

Adams’ press secretary said they will continue to welcome the migrant with open arms but he admitted they still needed help from the Biden administration.

Governor Abbott compared Adam’s stance on the migrants traveling on the 30-hour bus ride to Biden’s open door policy allowing migrants to enter the United States after walking thousands of miles through Mexico and Latin America. Abbott called Adams hypocritical.

Abbott added that towns in Texas deal with the migrants almost daily as they come across the border. In turn, Abbott has used the Texas National Guard and Texas Public Safety to arrest the migrants.

Should Mayor Adams just accept the migrants that Texas sends them?
