Last year, over 2 million migrants crossed the Texas-Mexican border. This year they estimated it to be similar.

Under Texas Governor Greg Abbott, he calls it an invasion and has set up Operation Lonestar for U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and the Department of Public Safety to apprehend the migrants as they cross the southern border stretching from San Antonio to El Paso.

Then Governor Abbott has drawn attention as he busses some migrants from Texas to Eastern cities such as New York and Washington, D.C. To date, the Biden administration has not provided support to the mayors who have repeatedly asked for help.

Even former President Donald Trump recognized the issue in his term in office and was building a wall. Republicans understand the issue. Democrats haven’t taken the border crossings seriously.

See what the Biden administration has mentioned about the border crisis:

Former U.S. Representative Will Hurd said:

“The Republicans are going to have near — if not record — turnout in Latino communities because Democrats have been absolutely idiotic when it comes to border security.”

The Biden administration has literally ignored support from Governor Abbott to support his efforts along the border as migrants continue to cross.

Then Mark Jones a political science professor at Rice University said:

“Younger Texans are much more in sync with Beto on a wide range of policies than they are with Abbott. If you’re Beto, you’re focused on getting those younger voters, members of Generation Z in particular, to turn out and vote in a way that they have not in the past, let alone in a midterm election.”

Earlier this year, Democratic challenger for Texas governor Beto O’Rourke said:

“I’m from the border [O’Rourke grew up and represented El Paso while in office from 2013 to 2019]. I understand this. The people from Texas understand this and I know that we're all looking for a real solution. We’re not getting it from Greg Abbott. We’re not getting it from the Biden administration either. What we need is leadership.”

Little has been added from O’Rourke on how he plans to fix the border problem other than requesting support from the Biden administration.

If O’Rourke wants to win the Texas election for governor, he may need to provide more details on how he would fix the border problem.

Do you think the Democrats are weak concerning the border issue?
