Trade one Hot Place for Another this Summer With your Family - Florida

As soon as I got off the plane, I could feel the humidity. No, it wasn’t Austin, Texas. That really isn’t humidity. I grew up in Philly and know what real humidity is.

The humidity I’m talking about is the humidity in Orlando, Florida where I flew out earlier this week. Temperatures were in the 90s this week with occasional rain in the late afternoon or evening to cool off the temperatures a little.

This morning I went outside just for a few minutes at 8 am and could feel the humidity in the air. It’s great to start off the day with coffee or tea, but a better beverage may be water. If you plan to run around most of the day in this weather, water should be your best choice followed by your next choice of coffee or tea.

If you have been to Walt Disney World or Disneyland before, you know it’s about taking your kids to see Mickey, Minnie, Winnie the Pooh, or another Disney character. Then there are the rides. There is a lot to choose from at one of the many Disney theme parks.

Disney’s Water Parks

You can buy tickets online or at one of the convenient deals that various organizations provide. I bought a two-day hopper and went to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom so saved a little bit of money. Rates will vary depending on what you want to do during your visit.

Other than waiting in long lines, expect to keep hydrating yourself if you are not used to the warm humid Florida weather. Various vendors and restaurants provide refreshments.

You have probably heard a lot about Facebook, now called Meta as they make their transition to the metaverse. Well, Disney World is also making a move in this direction.

While at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I took a ride on Avatar Flight of Passage which I thought was one of the best rides during my visit. You’ll get the opportunity on the virtual ride to see the visual animation and creativity of this fun ride. The dynamics that the Disney creators put behind this should draw a lot more praise than most metaverse-like events have provided.

Then in the evening, Disney provides fireworks since most areas in Texas limit fireworks displays except in certain places on holidays such as the 4th of July and New Year’s Day.

And, if you want to treat yourself to a more formal dinner, be sure to make reservations since some places may already be full if you decide to wait until you get there.

Of course, you could always eat at one of the vendors located along the paths at Disney World.
