El Paso Opened Four New Water Parks for Memorial Day Weekend

El Paso brings more excitement to the city for fun with its very own water parks.

The opening day for water parks in El Paso was Saturday, May 29. Park hours are Sunday to Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the park or online. Tickets can be purchased with cash, debit cards, or credit cards. Online purchases charge an additional fee.

The parks are located throughout the city. Camp Cohen (9700 Gateway N. Blvd) opened in northeast El Paso. The other parks are Chapotoe in East El Paso (1225 Giles Road), Lost Kingdom in Central El Paso (6001 Hughey Drive B), and Oasis in East El Paso (13501 Jason Crandall Drive).

At Camp Cohen people can swim in Endurance River, climb the Warrior Wall or ride high-octane Thunder Run, Lightning Bolt, or Monsoon Plunge slides. Little children can enjoy their own aquatic adventure at the Poppy Island water playground within the Wild Lagoon.

At Chapoteo, people can slide at the Calavera Plunge and enjoy the lazy river at the calm Rio Sereno. Other activities include the El Valiente climbing wall, the Chapula Springs leisure pool, and the Lago Azul lap pool. Guests can enjoy splashing at the Sirenita Reef play area in the Lagarto Lagoon.

At Oasis, visitors can enjoy the only surfing machine in the city. Visitors can enjoy Driftwood Channel, a meandering lazy river. For a bit more adventure and excitement, visitors can scale the climbing wall, Gravity Challenge, or the spiraling Tumbleweed slides. There is also the signature slide of the Oasis water park. Take a break at the cabanas in the Hueco Dwellings, after enjoying the Sunset Lagoon leisure pool and the Adventure Pointe water play area at the Rain Puddle kiddie pool. You can also feed the entire family without leaving the water park at the Wanderlust Café in the Desert Haven plaza.

At Lost Kingdom, visitors can enjoy water slide thrills at the Temple Drop and Moon Temple water slides. Challenge events include The Ruins climbing wall and the Mayan Lanes. Visitors can enjoy the Macaw Lagoon and the Jaguar Jungle. Included are interactive water features for endless hours of fun. Visitors looking to relax can journey to the cabanas in the Jade Villas, the Turtle Tides lazy river, or swim in the Forgotten Cenote leisure pool.

Event tickets

You can buy tickets for 1-day admission, evening group tickets, and seasonal tickets.

1-day general admission for people 48” and taller is $12.

A person who is under 48” tall is $10.

Military personnel with an ID and Seniors age 65 and over can get in for $10. These tickets are available at the water park.

Children 2 and under can get in for free.

Twilight tickets which start at 3 pm are $6. Group tickets of 20 or more are $8 from Sunday to Thursday only. These tickets are available at the park.

Season passes are $49 and valid for all four parks.

Taxes are not included for these prices. The tickets are non-refundable and only valid for the season they are purchased.

Other park amenities

The parks are designed with heated pools, spacious plazas, and sound and lighting systems. These public water parks are ideal for summer fun and celebrations.

Food options are coming soon to the park. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and pizzas will be available. Outside food and glass bottles are not allowed.

Each of the parks has private cabanas for rent. Weekday rentals are from Monday to Thursday for $90. This includes six free non-alcoholic wrist bands for drinks and does not include park entrance.

Weekend rentals from Friday to Sunday is $100. This includes six free non-alcoholic wrist bands for drinks and does not include park entrance.

Pets of any kind are not allowed unless they are a service animal.

Sun Metro runs to each of the parks as well.
