A Florida K9 Officer did his part to take a bite out of crime and now a suspect who tried to avoid the cops is missing a nice chunk of his leg.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey proudly showed off photos of the pup he called "My main man Lefty" along with the surprised face of fugitive Stanley Carter. Officers from the Fugitive Unit stopped Carter on an open felony warrant and for making violent threats against his family members.

According to the Sheriff Agent Aziz Ghawi spotted Carter's abandoned motorcycle near Pineda Causeway and US 1.

Witnesses last spotted Carter at the top of the bridge. Agent Ghawi requested assistance from K9 Lefty and his partner Corporal Lee Roth.

The pair went to work and Lefty immediately picked up a scent and led officers to some thick brush under the bridge. Police ordered Carter to surrender, but he ignored the commands. Then Lefty and his partner went in and it didn't take long for the K9 to find carter and sink his teeth into the man's arm and leg.

The sheriff shared some pretty graphic pictures of the dog bites online and said, "Some people apparently just don’t understand that when we say…“come out with your hands up” or “stop resisting or we’re sending the dog in” things are about to go really bad if you do anything other than come out, with your hands up or stop resisting!! Carter was quite surprised to have a dog hanging from his arm by the teeth, and also from his leg as he was trying to avoid apprehension!!"

Officers took Carter into custody on an active warrant and for making written threats to kill, do bodily harm, conduct a mass shooting, or act of terrorism, violation of pre-trial release, and stalking. He's currently held without bond.
