    The FDA is warning Florida residents about a potentially dangerous over-the-counter medication sold in drugstores throughout the state.Testing showed the medicine is contaminated with a bacterial called Gluconacetobacter liquefaciens.

    According to the FDA, the bacteria causes an increased risk of invasive infections with potentially life-threatening consequences in folks with compromised immune systems.

    The medicine was sold over-the-counter at CVS Pharmacies in Florida and throughout the country under the name CVS Magnesium Citrate Saline Laxative Oral Solution Lemon Flavor. It came in a clear 10-ounce bottle.

    Consumers should look for the batch number 0556808 with an expiration date of 12/2023. If you purchased this product, stop using it immediately and return the bottle to the store.

    According to the agency, " Consumers should contact their physician or healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related to taking or using this drug product. Adverse reactions or quality problems experienced with the use of this product may be reported to the FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program either online, by regular mail or by fax."
