A Florida mom and her boyfriend are behind bars after a toddler was taken to a hospital with suspicious injuries.

Police arrested mom Cheyenne Gray, 20, and her boyfriend Cameron Taylor, 21, after her two-year-old daughter was taken to the hospital with serious injuries including multiple broken bones. Police say the injuries happened while Taylor was watching the child last week.

Investigators said he came up with different stories as to how the little girl was hurt. He first said she fell off the bed and hit her head, then changed the story to say she fell off the toilet and hit her face on the tub.

Elderly Florida Couple Found in Ditch

Neither Taylor nor the child's mother called for medical help. Cheyenne Gray told police she was afraid the injuries would make her look like an abusive mother. When she finally took the child for medical treatment, medical personnel alerted the police.

Detectives charged Taylor with aggravated child abuse and child neglect. The girl's mother is charged with child neglect.

The child is currently in critical condition at a Florida hospital.
