VIDEO: Helicopter Chase Nets 4 Florida Car Thieves

Four Florida car thieves are behind bars after a helicopter caught them in the act. It all started around 5 am on Monday morning when a report came in of burglars on the property of the Auto Nation Auction Company on US HWY 17-92.

Florida Man Wanted in IHOP Shooting

LPD responded to the scene and immediately set up a perimeter and found three suspects walking out of the business. A fourth man took off running.

That's when a helicopter from the SCSO Aviation Unit joined in to assist. The chopper spotted a suspicious vehicle at 600 North State Road 600. Officers on the ground responded to the scene and located the suspect. The Aviation Unit shared dramatic air footage of the arrest.

Police arrested Keyaurus Gibson, Naquan Williams, Timothy Chiles, Jr., and Treyon Perkins. The men are charged with multiple offenses including:

• Attempted grand theft auto
• Burglary
• Probation violation
• Organized Theft
• Oxycodone possession
• Cocaine possession
